As usual I woke up about 7am, then I laid in bed and wrote yesterday's blog and I couldn't be bothered with it at the time. Having had breakfast everyone went to work/school, and I tidied up the kitchen and living room for Fenella as there was stuff everywhere.
I then spent absolutely ages on the OffExploring website messing about with the map thing, which showed where all the blogs are posted from. For some reason some of them were showing all round the world, so I fixed that and generally just messed around.
Later on I looked into what to do in Bali a bit more. I got a message from my friend over there with their plans, but unfortunately they are going to be off doing scooter tours etc on the other end of the island when I fly in. I think I am just going to find my feet in Kuta for a day or 2, then get out to somewhere quiet with good waves and stay there for a while.
I then got a call from the traveller from Brisbane, saying he was going to come and see the car this afternoon. He was going to get a train up and arrive by about 2:30pm, so we arranged that I would pick him up from there.
Mum had sent me Mr Huxtable's email address, so I wrote him a good message with what I had been up to etc, which took a fair while. It's a shame he will have left Huish by the time im home so I cant go and see him to say hi, but hopefully he will reply to my email..
I had some lunch, then cycled up to the top of the road to pick up the car and bring it back again. Then not long after I got back I got a call from a guy in Landsborough, asking if the car was still for sale, as he had seen it parked up the road with signs in it! I told him I had someone coming to see it from Brisbane, but he was welcome to come and have a look before they arrived.
Sure enough he turned up 10 minutes later. He was super keen to buy it, as he was a decorator and needed something big enough to put his kit in. Having driven down the road and back he offered me $1900 there and then. As hard as it was to turn down the money, I told him I would have to give the other guy a chance first as he was already travelling up to see it, then get back to him after. Still as keen as before he left me his number to get back to him ASAP.
Soon after he left I went up to the station to pick up the guy from Brisbane. It turned out he was an Estonian (first one I have met!) traveller, who needed a wagon to fit him and an his 3 mates in while they are in Aus. He 'test drove' it back to the house, which was a bit sketchy as he is used to left hand drive cars, but we got back without incident thankfully! Having checked it over and looked through the other kit like sleeping bags etc, he asked how much I would knock off the price. Knowing I had an almost guaranteed sale with the other bloke, I didn't see why I should barter much. I offered him $1900 which he could take or leave, and sure enough he settled for it! I wasn't that surprised though really as he had made the journey all the way up from Brisbane.
Having given me $1900 in cash we filled in all the paper work, filled the car with the stuff and off he went! I wouldn't have through twice about selling it to the decorator obviously, but I must admit it was nice to see it go on to another traveller with all the kit..
It was a bit sad to see it go in away, despite only having it for 3 months. It's the first car I have ever gone about buying and selling myself, let alone all the time I have spent in it over the last couple of months!
By this time everyone was home from work/school. Fenella got my Anti Malaria and Antibiotics for me in Caloundra, to the sound of $175 dollars!!! If I can't claim that back on health insurance (and even if I can for the short term) I am going to have to take mum up on her offer to help me pay for them because that is ridiculous!
I didn't do much else later on. Fenella and Mark went to Diggors Christmas Carol evening which I considered, but Fenella advised me avoid it as its like pulling your eyes balls out painful apparently! Plus that way Cecily could go to Athletics, as I could borrow their spare car and pick her up later in the evening.
I basically just bummed around watching surf clips on the Internet etc until I picked up Cecily, then we all arrived home at the same time.
