So today, despite it being a Saturday, I woke up at 6:45am, after hoping for a longer sleep. However I am glad it happened - the first thing I did was look at the surf report, as I knew we were due a small swell pulse this morning. Sure enough there was a '1-2ft wave' to be had, so I jumped out of bed, smashed some Weetabix's and jumped in the car with my kit.
I decided to go to Currimundi lake, as it would get maximum swell and being so early there would be no wind. When I got there at about 7:30am the car park was full, so I ran to check the surf I was pleasantly surprised. Sure enough it was 1-2ft, suuuper glassy with peaks all a long the beach. On the down side, every man and his dog was out surfing as it was the 1st really surf able wave in about 2 weeks.
I surfed for about an hour and a half, and had a really good time. It was just really nice to be back out in the water, and the waves were really fun for their size. Eventually the southerly winds picked up and ruined it, and all of a sudden the swell just disappeared, so I got out. I just got changed and jumped in the car, getting home before 10am.
When I got back everyone was just materialising from bed, so we had eggs+bacon etc for bunch. Then I just faffed about until we went to take Cecily to her quarter finals league cup match about 1:30pm, and all of us went to support.
Her team played very well, easily as they had never beaten the team they were playing. In the end they conceded 3 goals in the last 10 minutes to loose 3-0, but had the scored 2 good chances in the 1st half it would have been a different story. It was a good match to watch all the same, and it was nice but bloody hot sitting there in the sun most of the afternoon!
When we got home I played FIFA and table football etc with Diggor, then we had dinner and watched a film. I was yet again knakered by 9:30, so wrote this blog and went to bed.
