Day 36 Fruit Picking-
Today was just another day at work. The morning seemed to go pretty quickly, and then just before lunch we were told we would have the afternoon off, as not enough fruit had ripened off. Greg reckoned the extra afternoon of sunshine would give us a lot more to pick tomorrow.
I got home about 1pm after having lunch at work and sitting around for a while chatting. It was a beautiful sunny day so I decided to do the normal thing, to put my fishing and surfing kit in the car and go to the coast. I went to Currimundi to check the surf, but the northerly wind was ruining the small swell which was around, so I got my fishing kit and found a sheltered spot on the lake in the sun and out the wind.
I fished for about 2 hours, but ended up catching absolutely nothing. A shoal of what must have been hundreds of mullet were swimming around chasing bait fish, but wouldn't take my baits or lures. I ended up diving up and driving round the coast to Kings to go for a surf, as it's sheltered from the Northerly.
It was about 1ft and super crowed as usual, but I managed to paddle up the beach and find a peak with just a couple of kids on it. It was good fun to be in the water, and the waves were really peaking up and hollow over the shallow sand bars, making it fun for the size.
I got home about 6pm, and sorted out all the kit as usual. I then wrote a draft email to send to Swansea to ask for my place to be deferred for a 2nd year. I sent it to mum and dad, who then forwarded it on to the uni. Hopefully they will reply soon with good news. Finger crossed!
After dinner I watched the 1st of the 3 Batman films in the new series 'Batman Begins'. I'm not normally bothered by those sorts of films, but I thought it was very very good, and am now super keen to watch the following 2!
