Day 30 Fruit Picking -
Work was so much easier today than yesterday, fortunately my body wasn't anywhere near as sore, so the day went quickly. The afternoon was pretty warm, but we all ended up having a good laugh so it wasn't too bad.
Once I finished work I went to the IGA and bought a cheapy knife and a couple of loafs of bread, and went straight to Pelecan Waters to go fishing.
When I arrived there was an older couple there already, and I had a good chat with them. I caught a couple of Bream early on, but only 1 big enough to keep. The older bloke then used his 'cast net' and caught about 6 small Mullet and 2 smaller bait fish, but he didn't want them and gave them to me I use for bait! He then also gave me a few big hooks so I could use the smallest one as a live bait.
I gave him some of my bread and we both caught a couple more Bream, but again just 1 keeper.
As he left I was scaling one of the Mullet with my cheapy knife, he came over and insisted that I took his knife, as apparently he has more at home. Obviously I was very grateful and thanked him before he eventually left.
As it started to get dark I got more bites but no more fish I could keep. I then took in the Bream rod and just left the live bait rod out, as I gutted and scaled all the fish I had. While I was doing that the livebait rod went off and got pulled over, unfortunately by the time I picked it up whatever it was snagged me up and snapped me off. I was pretty gutted as what ever it was must have been substantial.
I eventually got home about 7:30/8pm, had dinner, a shower, watched some of the Olympics and went to bed.
(Photo - the view from the families seats whilst at the Olympics Beach Volley Ball...very jealous).
