Day 63 Fruit Picking -
So today all the pickers had the day off, and I went in to work in the shed all day packing. It just reinforced its nice to have a change, but I couldn't have done that all season. Although today I did find out useful bits and pieces about when I go road trip'in which was good.
We managed to pack about 3 and a half pallets of strawberries today too, meaning the shed has almost caught up with the pickers..pretty important if this is to be the last week!
Just before I left work at the end of the day some huge storm clouds were forming, as it was a humid 27 degrees all day. Hopefully the storms will stay away for another week and not ruin the fruit..another week of work would be ideal, so fingers crossed!
I got home about half 3 today having finished a little earlier than usual, and used the time well when I got home...making more curtains! I managed to get the 4 side window ones done which is great, just 1 more to make for the front/back partition...I am over making the things already though to be honest. It'll be great when they are finished though.
After dinner I signed up on a website called 'CouchSurfing' - it's a travellers website where people offer/request a 'couch' to crash on for a certain period of time. Thousands and thousands of people use it, so I figured it would be useful to Atleast have a go signing up to it and see if I get any interest.. If not I will just put fliers/posters up in back packers before I start my trip..
As always on a Wednesday evening I watched 'Farmer Wants a Wife' before going to bed. It's such a shameful addiction and normally the kind of 'rubbish' I slate, but I can't get enough of it!
(Photo - the old barnet is pretty lengthy now, im getting excited for deads!)
