Day 59 Fruit Picking -
Once again today was just another standard day at work. It was pretty 'cold' though actually today, especially as there was a strong wind around.
It took us all day to pick 1 patch as there was so much fruit on it, and about an hour and a half to pick just 1 row. By the end of the day we were all pretty over it..but we are working Saturday again this week to try and get more done. There is no way we will get close to picking the whole farm twice as you are meant to though.
I got home about 3pm, having finished about 45 minutes early. I then spent a couple of hours sorting out insurance for my car - it is now all done, and I have 3rd party fire and theft insurance for just $21 monthly fee! I wish I could get a price like that on a 1.8L estate at home!!
Having sorted out my insurance I went down to Ewen Maddock dam, as Cecily was with Maddie and Anna kayaking, and Diggor and Mark and Kelly wanted to go fishing and walk the dogs.
We only stayed for an hour or 2 around sunset, but I still caught a fish..which is now living in the dam.
Diggor didn't think he was being very successful, then thought he had hooked into a snag...I took the rod from him to see it I could free it, and I pulled up a turtle nearly as big as dinner plate! We could not believe out eyes! I landed it with a net, we took some photos of it, then let it go again in a bit of sock..it was pretty amazing.
Later Maddie, Anna and Kelly stayed round as we had Nachos for dinner, and 'us' adults had a couple of beers.
They all stayed up a bit later, but I ended up going to bed about 10pm knakered, and I have work tomorrow..
