This morning I seemed to wake up about 7:30am for no reason, still be tired, and be unable to sleep. No one else was up, so I just got up and had breakfast etc while checking out all the surf cams. There didn't look to be that much around as the swell is dying, so I just bummed around and waited for everyone else to get up.
Cecily's friend was still here and it was overcast but not raining, so we decided we'd go to Noosa for the day.
We got to Noosa about 12, went to Subway for lunch and then parked at the 'Noosa Heads' car park, like last time.
We walked around the coastal path for about 3km, past each of the point breaks and small beaches until we reached the most eatery headland look out. The weather had been clearing the whole time, and by the time we got there it was beautiful sunshine occasionally broken up by clouds.
For the headland we watched about 15 dolphins swimming around and playing below us and looked over ... Beach.
There were loads people surfing on the beach (including 2 kids being towed into 2ft waves behind a Jetski and punting huge airs!) so we walked down to watch and check out the beach.
On the walk back towards the car park we stopped at one of the small beaches to go for a swim and mess around. Without a wetsuit it's blinking cold in the sea, but once you have been in long enough your body goes a little numb and it's ok! It was really good fun body surfing etc, and I almost managed to grab and pick up a turtle which was swimming around.
After a while we got out the sea and walked back down to the car. We then drove into Noosa itself and got an Icecream, before driving home.
On the way back there was a beautiful sunset with the patchy clouds being turned orange and red - an appropriate way to finish a lovely day.
When we got home we lit a fire, made scrambled eggs for dinner and watched a documentary on Ian Thorpe the Australian Olympic swimming and then went to bed.
