So today Diggor and Cesily went back to school after the bank holidays and weekend, and Mark went back to work.
Somehow I slept through them all having breakfast and coming in and out of my room to get stuff, and I eventually woke up at 10am.
I had breakfast etc then went into the local town (of which I can't remember/spell the name) with Fenella, as she was getting her hair done. I eventually got round to going to a Australian bank and opening an account.
That way I can online transfer the money in my home account to this Aussie one where I can take it out free/cheaper. However it also means when I get a job I have an Aussie bank to pay the money into.
This process took about 45 mins - 1 hour, and before I knew it the whole thing was up, going and activated.
After I had finished in the bank I had about 45 minutes to kill, so I walked down to the beach, where you can see Bribe Island. The sea was so stormy it was unbelievable - Atleast 10ft waves breaking with howling winds, causing the ocean to almost foam up.
I then walked round the walkway to the next beach, Kings Beach, where I just sat and watched the surf until Fenella came and picked me up.
We then came back home, via Moffat Beach, where we had checked the surf the other day, before walking and surfing at Dickie Beach. At Moffat we were watching bodyboarders getting barrelled in the 3ft shorebreak, then getting a royal beating. I must admit it looked really fun, and I would have 'degraded' myself to bodyboarding to have a go!
When we got back to the house we had lunch etc, then a local farmer called who we left my name with the other day, saying he has work!! Having spoken to him I am going up to his farm tomorrow to see what the deal is, and if all is good I can start Monday!!
At about 4pm Fenella was taking Diggor to football training, and watching him and Cesily (who has gone straight from school) train, so I came along too. I actually ended up joining in and playing a game with Cesily's team which was really good fun. It makes me realise how much I have missed playing football..
We got back about 6:30pm, then Mark got back from work, Fenella's mum arrived, and so did the couple she had been house sitting for arrived for dinner.
(I Havnt mentioned Fenella's mum yet but she is house sitting for some friends who live on the same street, for the past 2.5 months. She is barable in small quantities, but is obnoxious and winds me up quickly the longer she is around, and also is painfully posh - "oh darling" this, that and the other. Fortunately Fenella seems to be of the same opinion, but obviously I Havnt said what I think, just nod and agree a lot!)
It was a really nice evening getting to know the elderly couple, who Mark and Fenella are obviously very friendly with, and hearing their stories of their recent travels etc. It reminded me of our family's long, and often random, talks at the table after dinner!
Fenella's mum and the couple she is house sitting for left about 10pm. Everyone else went to bed and I am just sat up writing this and reading my Surf magazine..
