Day 67 Fruit Picking -
Today was the last day working on the strawberries. All we had to do was finish picking the camerosa, which we had started yesterday.
It was a nice warm, clear, morning and looked to the start of a nice day, but by lunch time it had clouded over and the wind had got up unfortunately.
We finished picking by 12pm, but then went back out after lunch till 1:30pm doing some weeding, to let the shed catch up a bit.
Having done that we had a little 'breakup party' at the Smoko shed, where Greg's wife had sorted some food and Greg had bought a couple of crates of beer. Greg's parents came
down and sat with us all too.
It was a really nice afternoon, just sitting around chatting and having some drinks. The packing shed women were particularly merry having knocked back a few bottles of wine, so they were pretty good value!
By the time we all got lifts home about 6pm everyone was half cut, but fortunately for most of them they didn't have work tomorrow!
It was a bit sad having to say goodbyes to everyone having worked with them for 3 months, but it's all part of travelling I guess. I knew I would be going in to work the next day to do pines with Greg, so some I would see again anyway.
When I got home I just had a shower and dinner etc, then went to bed about 8pm completely knakered. Drinking in the middle of the afternoon after getting up early and working in the morning obviously took it's toll..
