I had a good time today, it was great to be out and about this morning exploring and then just chilling at home this arvo.
Having got up and had some cereals and lounged around a bit first thing, we all (including Cecily's friend Boo who stayed last night) went to Maleny for brunch. We went to a really nice cafe on the main street, then spent an hour or so just wandering around looking at all the stereotypical hippy style shops.
We then drove up to the lookout point, where you look out east over all the flat lands, the Glass House Mountains, and out to the sea beyond. This was the lookout I went to on one of the first weekends I was here with the family, but the cloudy was so low and rainy you wouldn't have even known there was a view to see!
It was absolutely beautiful up there, so we messed about for a while taking pictures etc..
From there we went to 'Gardeners Falls' in a valley near Maleny, which is a small water fall with a deep pool at the bottom that people go to swim in and jump in via rope swings etc. It was a really nice little hidden location, then to walk down the creek bed from the carpark to the water fall, and see groups of people swimming etc. It was a little bit like film setting really..
We stayed there for a while, and everyone but Fenella (who was too much of a wimp) and I (who couldn't due to my flipping new dreads) went swimming etc in the pool. It looked really, really good fun going in on the rope swing and jumping from the waterfall...but oh well. I got lots of pictures instead.
From there we drove the 15/20ish minute journey home, and by the time we got back it was late lunch time. We then just spent the afternoon lazing about by the pool in the sun and around the house..it was 28 degrees after all!
In the evening Mark and Fenella went out for dinner, so I stayed and 'babysat' at home. We made a fry up for dinner, and just chilled out for the evening watching trashy TV..
