I actually managed a small 'lay in' this morning, which was good as I was so tired by the time I went to sleep last night.
I got up about 9am, and didn't really have a clue what I would do all day. When I was having some breakfast Rich rang, and said he was going snorkelling again this weekend, so I said I would go along.
In the end Rich, Kelly, Fenella and I all went down to Moffat Beach. Fenella and Kelly just stayed on the beach, while Rich and I went off snorkelling. Again the water was beautifully clear, and we swam around the whole reef you surf over at Moffat - it must have been the best snorkelling I have ever done! There were loads of fish on the reef, there was coral and sea weed everywhere, and we saw a shark (can't remember the name of it) which was about 3/4ft long just laying sheltered under a boulder, which was so cool. By far the best part was the sea turtle though I was swimming along looking to the side when I nearly swam head first into a massive turtle! It really wasn't bothered by our presence, and I swam around/next to/above it for about 5 minutes before leaving it alone again. It was so cool just to watch it going about its business from so close.
We must have snorkelled for an hour or so, then we came in as Rich was tired and had cut his hand up on a rock and was bleeding into the water a bit. We just chilled on the beach for a while as it was so nice in the sun, then came back home for lunch.
After lunch I helped Mark with our latest contraption to get from the paddock onto the island of the dam. The bridge wasn't that great, so we decided to make a raft, big enough to float the lawn mower on. We spent a couple of hours this arvo doing it, and so far we have managed to - make a wooden frame to house 4 big 200L plastic drums, which we have then used rope to lash them to the frame. Its looking pretty good, and was coming on well, until we had to stop for the day.
We then got changed and went down to Caloundra to get Dig's out the house, do some fishing and have fish&chips for dinner. The sun was just setting on the coast when we got to our normal fishing spot in Pelecan Waters, so we fished for a while, then Fenella went off to get food and met us back where we were still fishing. I caught a small Bream which we had to put back, then we sat around on the pontoon picnic style eating our fish and chips.
It was a really nice thing to do to top off what for me was a short weekend.
