So today I slept in the latest I have managed for a while, after staying up late to watch the Olympics last night.
I contemplated going to watch Cecilys soccer, but in the end I faffed around at home tidying up for Fenella and having breakfast to bother going.
Instead I decided to go fishing at Currimundi lake. It's beautiful down there and there wasn't a cloud in the sky so I thought it would be a nice place to spend the day.
I got there about 12ish and started fishing a bit further up the creek. To my surprise I caught on my very first cast. I sat sunbathing there for ages but no more bites were forth coming, so I went down to the main 'lake' area.
I got a few bites there but nothing really worth bothering with, so I packed up all my kit and drove down to currimundi beach, where I walked around for a bit and then just led and chilled out in the sun.
About 4pm when the temperature was starting to fall I started driving home, but made the last minute decision to fishing for an hour at Ewen Maddock Dam, as it's on the way back , and I had nothing better to do at home.
I stayed there until dark, when the bites suddenly became much more frequent. I then struck into a fish and fought it or about 20 seconds when it bit through my line and snapped me off. I decided to have one last go, and ended up catching a disgusting eel which must have been about 2 feet long. Just as I was working out how to get it onto the land without it coiling around me covering me in slime, it bit through the line...so I guess that must have been the other offender too..?
I came home had a shower etc, had dinner and then Skyped Mum and Dad as they have just got back from Portugal. I really really enjoyed speaking to them, and it was great to see them looking so happy after their holiday.
I spoke to them for about an hour and then just watched the Olympics highlights before going to bed.
