I woke up this morning at about 6am, as someone was launching their boat into the lake. I had actually had a pretty good sleep compared to the 1st night in the car, so felt pretty good when I got up.
I couldn't quite belive I was in the same place as yesterday evening, everything looked so different - there was absolutely no wind so the surface of the lake just looked like glass, there wasn't a cloud in the sky and the sunrising's light on the surface of the water was just amazing. All of a sudden I could see why Fenella reccomened I go there.
I packed up the car and had some breakfast, then wandered around the laks's shore taking photos and just taking in the views.
A bit later on I set off back south, and headed for Coolum Beach. If there was anywhere in the area with surf, that would be it.
I arrived there sometime after 8am, and sure ebough there was a little wave. Since the weather front moved over the other day, it's now back to 'normal' where it's really still in the morning, until the sea breeze starts up mid morning.
There was a little 1ft and clean wave, so I went out in my boardies to splash around. It was good fun, but after about an hour it just went to nothing as the wind got up and ruined it.
After surfing I just sat on the beach in the sun drying off, when I saw some humpback wales breaching and laying on their side flapping their flippers just off the beach, which was so cool.
I then drove round to the next little bay, had some early lunch, then went down to the beach and went snorkelling. It was a bit choppy so the sand was churned up a bit, but I still saw some fish which was cool.
When I was done on the beach I set off for 'home', and got back about 1pm. It's strange, getting up and doing things so early in the morning makes it feel like the whole day should be over, but it's only mid-afternoon. Makes you realise how much time can be wasted!
Being a Sunday afternoon the family was just chilling out and lazing around the house. Maddie and Kelly came round, and we all just spent the rest of the afternoon laying around in the sun and swimming in the pool. Definately a lifestyle I could get used to!
They decided to have a BBQ for dinner, with Kelly, Rich and Maddie, then 2 other friends from up the road called Ron and Bubbles.
It was a really, really fun evening i thoroughly enjoyed.
Despite being in their late 60s Ron and Bubbles were a really good laugh, and took me by surprise a bit!
Also Kelly and Rich brought their 2 motocross bikes over, so we spent a couple of hours in the paddock taking it in turns on the bikes. It's fair to say having never ridden one before I was a bit nervous to begin with, but even if I say so myself I picked it up straight away and had a BRILLIANT time!
We all sat around having a few drinks and chatting after dinner, then everyone went off about 9/9:30pm.
