I hardly got any sleep in the tent last night. It drizzled most of the night, so I had the drips from the trees falling on the tent. Then about 3am I was woken up by something splashing around in the creek and walking near the tent, which we now think was Dingos..great!
Anyway, I got up about 6am to find that 2 of the 3 rods we had set for the night had gone off, but neither had fish on. We wound in and had bacon and egg rolls for breakfast, then packed up the camp.
Before we went to the 2nd fishing spot we quickly stopped at one of the oldest known cemeteries in Queensland (shown in the photo). It was quite interesting as it was for the old loggers etc.
We drove off to another fishing spot closer to the creek's estuary about 5 minutes drive away by about 7am. Within 15 minutes of fishing we had landed 2 fish, which was great after yesterday's lack of success.
Jen and her partner left for home at about 8:30am, but I didn't have anything to get home for, so stayed on till about 12. I was really nice sat in the sun and I caught a couple more Bream so that kept me entertained.
I eventually went home after exploring a bit around the creek as I was super hungry, and got back about 12:45pm, having picked up lunch for the pie shop!
In the afternoon I sorted out all the kit I took camping, like re-putting up the tent as it was wet and covered in sand.
I then went off into the forestry, near the house, to walk the dogs with Diggor, Fenella and Mark. It was really good fun as Digs and I went on the mountain bikes do found some of our own trails.
Soon after we got home we had dinner, then we skyped everyone at Laurie and Jen's camping party back home. It was great to be able to see/talk to them all despite being the other side of the world! Unfortunately it was pouring with rain there but they all seemed to be having fun anyway.
Once they had gone off to have breakfast we watched a film (whilst I tried to sew up some shorts i've ripped) and went to bed.
