I woke up at about 8am this morning, which was earlier than I would have hoped considering its a weekend. I watched some of the Olympics and have breakfast, then checked the surf report. It was meant to bed similar/slightly less swell as yesterday, so I decide to go to Currimundi Lake to check it out.
When I got there it was obvious I wasn't going to be able to surf, it had died too much. It was an absolutely beautiful day though and the sea was crystal clear, so I decided to have a go sea fishing. To my surprise using gear which was way too light I caught a Bream pretty quickly, but had to put it back as it was too small. A cross shore wind soon picked up though so I had to give up and just sunbathed instead.
After an hour or so I got bored and decided to go fishing in the lake instead, sheltered under some trees, on the other side of the lake to last time. Again to my surprise I got loads of bites, and ended up catching my first FlatHead, but it too was a few cm too small so I put it back.
When the bites dried up and I got bored I packed up and went to Maccers about 3pm for lunch, as Cecily is collecting the Olypic Cups.
I then went off to Pelecan Waters, to the same Jetty as last time, to try and catch a couple of bream to take home. There must have been about 9 or 10 people fishing up there while I was there until dark, and I out fished everyone! I caught loads of Bream, 1 keeper, 1 keeper lost as I landed it on the jetty and loads a couple of cm too small. It seems to get better down there the darker it gets and bigger fish are about, so I will be back there again soon to try my luck!
When I got home I gutted and scaled the fish, had a showe and watched the Olympics on TV until bed.
