Day 62 Fruit Picking -
Today was a much less eventful day at work than yesterday. There are now only 3 packers and 5 pickers, so everyone has a higher work load to try and cover.
Miraculously 'us' pickers managed to finish picking all the patches we are still working on this afternoon, allowing Greg to use his plan of not picking tomorrow to try and get the packers to catch up. As a result I will go into work and just pack all day tomorrow, it's not as good but its still a day of work to be paid for!
The weather has changed in the last couple of days too. Last night and today was the first substantial lot of rain we have had here in over 2 months, and the ground really needed it! It wasn't much fun picking in the patchy showers though.
When I got home I dossed around for a bit, then started working on making some curtains - a phase I didn't think I would ever have to say! I made the one for the back window successfully, having battled a bit with the sowing machine.. However testing it has made it clear the screw in hooks in the car will never ever hold the weight of the wires, without pulling out..so that's a problem for the weekend.
After dinner I put an advert for the surfboard I am selling on GumTree. I am hoping people may see it on there, then go to the surf shop at Dicky Beach to look at it.. Any way of advertising it and getting it sold ASAP is worth a go!
