We all got up late again today, about 9am or so as it was a bank holiday. Once up we had breakfast and everything, with the intentions of going out to show me some of the local views of the 'Glass House Mountains' etc.
We waited for Cesily to finish some of the work she was doing for school, then left about 11am. Unfortunately by that time the weather had changed again, and when we got there it was raining with very low cloud..so we couldn't see a thing!
We attempted to go to a Cafe for lunch, but being bank holiday and it being such terrible westher everywhere was absolutely packed.
Instead we went to the local Bakery on the way home, and had lunch here instead. I was educated into the traditional steak and *whatever-you-fancy* pie of this area, which was extremely tastey!
Later in the afternoon Fenella, Mark and I went to some family friends of theirs. The husband owns and runs a fencing company and may need a labourer once they are back from holiday in a few weeks, so we put in a good word for me, as it would be a good job to do towards my 2nd year VISA.
We also collected their caravan, which Mark and Fenella are borrowing for their holiday in a couple of weeks time.
As the weather was bad again in the afternoon we didn't do much but longe around inside watching TV, and I looked into any fruit picking jobs advertised in the local area via the Internet.
After dinner I spoke to Ed Parker back home for the first time in 3 months! It was great to catch up with him for over an hour, and it goes to prove that no matter how long it is between talking to your best mate you still get along as if you saw each other yesterday! He seems pretty happy back home, being home from Uni for the 'summer' (currently torrential rain) and everything. Not much seems to be going on...as usual..
After speaking to Ed I spoke to Danny Eskins briefly on Facebook - sounds like he is having the time of his life surfing in Bali...and it also sounds like he a million times better surfer than I am now. Oh well, I will go to Indo before I go home and then I'll see how we compare..
