Day 70 Fruit Picking, the last day ever!
As planned I went into work for the last day ever today to finish the strawberry season. Greg had been irrigating the 2 patches he is going to 'return' the plants for next year, so we went in today just to pull out all the weeds, giving the plants the best chance of survival until next year.
It was flipping hot again today, making a hard job a bit worse, but no one was too worried as it was our last day.
We had finished by about 1:30pm, then everyone stayed to sort out various paper work. My 2nd year visa paper work is now complete, so 'all' I have to do is send it off with my payslips, and it should be done..
We all sat around chatting for over an hour, until we said our goodbyes and headed off home. It was strange thinking I will probably never go back to that farm, having spent ages there, relative to how long I have been in Australia!
Now I have finished and signed my paperwork off, there is no reason for me to stay here anymore. As a result I had a trial run at packing everything I own into my car. Firstly it makes you realise how much stuff you have, and secondly that currently your whole 'life' is packed into one car..
I managed to fit it all in ok, but one thing is for sure, there wouldn't be much room what so ever if I was to pick up another traveller!
Having sorted all that out I spent the rest of the afternoon and evening catching up with the familys holiday and playing with Diggors new toy helicopter thing, nothing much exciting.
What is exciting is I am going to go for my 2nd surf on my new board early tomorrow morning, so I went to bed about 9pm.
