(As I Havnt been able to submit these to the Internet and they are all just drafts on my phone, I managed to accidentally delete yesterday's blog. Idiot.)
Today there wasnt forecast to be any real surf all morning, and it was meant to be blowing a gale, so I had a bit of a lay in.
Sure enough it was super windy and much cooler than it had been for the last few days when I got up. It wasnt very inviting outside in general, so I just sorted out the lasts of my kit for the road trip and the car etc.
I finished messing about a bit before lunch, and started watching a film based on the true story of Julian Asange's childhood and up to about 20 years old when he was first arrested for hacking based offences. It was very interesting and a bit of an eye opener into how his 'career' started. I just hope they make another one for the next 20 years!
In the afternoon some swell was predicted to start hitting the coast, but with it was some stormy weather. Despite the winds and rain I had to go to Caloundra for a gas bottle, so i figured i might aswell check the surf while I was there.
I bought the gas bottle no problem, and then was pleasantly surprised by the surf, for once! As the rain had just passed the winds had completely died, and Currimundi (down by Dicky Beach) was 2-3ft and little barrels. As the swell was coming from a very northerly direction though the waves were all breaking down the beach almost parallel to the shore, making them all left handers.
I surfed for about 45 minutes and had a couple of good ones, then all of a sudden a strong northerly wind kicked it. In 15 minutes or so it went from really nice, to extremely stormy and horrible, so I got out and went home.
I didn't do a huge amount at home in the late afternoon and evening as usual. Just helped Fenella a bit with dinner, ate and watched some TV for a while. Getting up really early the other day and a couple of bad nights sleep meant I was really tired, and went to bed quite early.
