Day 112: 23/12/12
I got up late this morning. I had started reading the other book that Shell sent last night and I decided to read some more when I woke up, which was a bad idea as I kept reading until I had it finished!
I went into town in the evening to watch the Christmas parade and pantomime. I text the lads to see if they wanted to come. Mike was gone visiting someone and Shane didn't answer for ages.
Anyway, the parade was good- the last day I had only missed drummers at the start. I had a good spot at a corner so I got a good view of them! Santa though in his sleigh with the reindeers didnt follow the parade route and went out the side aisle to the main square. Lots of kids beside me were very disappointed that he didnt pass!
It was threatening rain during the parade but it started more heavily as people were getting ready for the pantomime. They started to pantomime and within a few minutes the rain got heavier so people started leaving. It continued to get heavier and heavier and the flights were flickering on and off on the stage and the mc announced that they would have to stop the pantomime to see if the rain would stop. It got really heavy then, there was water just rushing by your feet! There was a pub nearby with a cover so everyone was standing under there. Soon you could see them gathering up the chairs and taking down the lights on the stage! So obviously they weren't going to start again! It was a good job I had seen it already! I felt sorry for any kids that were there that hadn't seen it. It was the last night of it and everything!
I think Mike was going heading into town around then but I had to go home as I was dripping wet!
I read the other book that Shell sent for all of us- things Irish people love. It's quite funny! It goes from giving out to Ray Houghton scoring against the English to jam sandwiches to Father Ted to spotting the talent at Mass...... All very true!
