Day 90: 1/12/12
It's hard to believe its December!
I went to the shopping centre near Shane this morning for a look. I needed new flip flops as my own ones had fallen apart. I found some nice ones in Myer. It's a big department store which had lots of good brands which are usually crazy dear but the flop flops weren't!
Shane collected me there then and we were trying to contact Tadgh so we could collect him. He has no phone and has only been in contact through Facebook so we couldn't get him. We decided to go back to Shane's house until we heard from him and who was sitting outside the pool when we got there? A big red headed Laois lad!
We stayed in Shane's house for a few hours chatting and hearing some of the stories from Asia! Shane was going to a 30tg birthday booze cruise in the evening so myself and Tadgh went back to my house and I got changed to go out. Mam and Dad skyped and Shell rang at the same time so they all had a catch up with Tadgh.
We walked to Southbank then which is near the house. We went to a pub there called the Plough which always has a good crowd. There was live music and lots of people. It's kind of an outdoor pub, most of it is open so there's a nice feel to it. We had a good few drinks there and plenty of chat. We were mostly discussing what made us decide to leave work and come out here! Then we walked into the Main Street to the Irish pub that's there and we bumped into one of the lads that lives with Shane and two brothers of one of the other lads. We stayed chatting to them for a while. For some reason the pub was full of people in Santa suits- it was all a bit random! Shane had been in contact then to tell us where he was. So after a lot of confusion with phones (Tadgh has none, mine froze and was continually vibrating and Shane's housemates phone went dead!) myself and Tadgh managed to get to Kaliber where he was. Most of the hurlers were there- all in flying form. Plenty of dancing. No major news or anything but it was good Craic. I eventually went home at 4 in the morning. The lads were still going strong at that stage! I got a taxi home and it happened to be a van taxi. Did you know the ground is a lot further away when your stepping out of a van!!
