Day 51: 23/10/12
Busy day today! Had no call so quickly organised what buses to get to go around to different schools. It was nine by the time I was ready to leave the house so I thought I mightn't get many schools in. I got seven though so I thought that was good! I was flat out getting buses, trains and walking! Thank God for google maps anyway. I was able to watch myself as the little blue dot and had the schools pinned on the maps too! Luckily most of the schools were near enough to bus stops!
All the schools have offices with administration staff and there's signs everywhere saying visitors have to report to the office. It seems to be the office people anyway that organise the relief teaching. Some of them were very positive and it felt like they would definitely put me on their preferred list. Others seemed like they were sick of getting CVs! I'll do another all out attack now tomorrow and well see if anything comes from it!
I went into the centre of the city afterwards and walked out to that house in kangaroo point to see how far it was or how exactly to get there. Then went back into South Bank and went to the cinema. I saw Mental- an Australian film. It wasn't great at all. Lots of Ozzies in the cinema were roaring laughing and I didn't think it was funny at all- obviously very different sense of humour!
Then I had to view the house again- I had to meet the guy in the house. He wasn't very chatty. Id say he'd be very quiet to live with. The location of the house is really good though and the price is good. So I wouldn't care too much what the people were like as long as they were half normal! He said anyway that he had to talk to the other girl and see if I could move in! So I don't know what the story is!
Got a bus out to carindale then and Shane picked me up. Watched some tv for a while and then went to bed! I'd say another day of buses and walking will be ahead of me tomorrow!
