Day 87: 28/11/12
I was back with year 5 and 6 today. They had maths again in the morning. After that it was a pure doss! There was a fun run so boys and girls of each age ran separately, doing laps of the oval. The older ages were up to about 4k I think. They all finished the race but some didnt run it all. Some were very fit though and just flew around!
That took up most of the early part of the day. I did have time to show them the pictures to do with Ireland. They were fairly interested so that was good. In the afternoon they were making pizza dough! Pure doss! The other teachers were there for that too.
Their teacher is called Joy and they call her by her first name. They don't call anyone else by their first name so I don't know why that is. She's fairly strict with them. If they misbehave they get put on behaviour plans. They go on a level one first and they have to behave really well to get off it. They write up what they need to do. If they don't do it they go on level 2 and it goes up to level 4. Somewhere included is internal suspension where they spend the day with a buddy class and normal suspension. A few are on plans at the moment. They were trying to be good. Others could be cheeky enough but not too bad. They are all mad about Joy, dying to tell her things even though she seems to be one of the strictest in the school. She seems to really praise them when they deserve it though and shakes their hand when they are leaving to go home. She obviously has their respect!
Went into town after school for a little while and dossed around. Came home then. Kate was knocking around this evening for a while as she took this week off from the farm. So we watched some tv for a while. I'm tired this evening as it was hot today and I was outside for a good while with that fun run! Bed early!
