Day 12 Oz: 14/9/12
The phone rang this morning at 7:15. I answered it half asleep. It was the agency wondering if I was available to work. I said no as I was half asleep and still in bed. I looked up the school they said afterwards and there's no way I could have been there on time. It was 26km away, completely on the other side of the city. Next week I'm going to have to be up and ready for 7am incase I get a call. Then I might have time to get to the school! I changed the schools to within 15km- there's 97 of them. So hopefully I'll get some calls!
I have no idea what I'd do with a class- particularly an infants class!! So have to get a few ideas ready incase teachers don't leave work. I presume when I get a call at that hour it's for someone who rings in sick- they won't have any work left! So, a lot to do before I start! Hopefully I get some calls next week. This time I'll be ready for them! I just hope I haven't ruined my luck by refusing today. But, definitely there was no chance of me making that school by 8:45 when the first bell rings!!
Spent a while today writing out a few things I did in South America and adding some pictures. I sent it to the teachers I'm Sonna. I had told them I'd send something on. I thought it would be nice for the kids mostly.
Also, went to the shop- it takes nearly a half hour to get there so it takes a lot of time out of the day!
Spent the rest of the evening trying to find some schools on Google maps, while watching rugby league- it's not a great game to watch!!
