Day 96: 7/12/12
I woke early this morning and had plenty I could have done but I just lied in bed! When I eventually got up I got another nose bleed. It must have been building for the night as it was worse than the others but still didnt last that long.
I was back in the school I was in last week. I was with 3/4. They are a nice class. We had assembly first where they were giving out literacy, numeracy, music, pe and thinking awards for achievement and effort. It started lashing rain just before assembly so we all got soaked going over there and then the hall was really packed with kids and parents, so it was very stuffy! Prime conditions for a nose bleed. But thankfully there was none!
After assembly we did some handwriting and chatted about school in Ireland. It had stopped raining by break time so they could all go out. After break they were making a lapbook about the lion, the witch and the wardrobe. I never heard of a lapbook before, but its just a book really that they were sticking in paper and art work to show the main characters, some of the main objects, a poem about the story, etc. They looked really good.
After second break the teacher had us tidying up- taking down art and giving them out, taking home worksheets, etc. It was messy enough so they were a big giddy for that, but nothing major!we did some singing during the day and they remembered Ratlin bog perfectly from last week! They said it had been stuck in their heads! They sang every word of it with no help! We learned oro se do bheatha bhaile today. I had to write it phonetically!! They were good at it though. We also got some of the Spanish lady aswell which they seemed to like! It was mad to hear them singing these songs in their Australian accents!
Free school I went into town and saw pitch Perfect which was really good. I managed to get the wrong bus home and ended up at a different stop and had to get another bus back into town again to come out the right way!
Kate came back from the farm shortly after I came home and we sat chatting for a while.
Early to bed anyway this evening as I have to prepare for Shane's famous party tomorrow. It's a safe bet there'll be no blog until Sunday night!
Btw- no sign of any more nosebleeds. (Touch wood!)
