After less than one hour sleep I took an Alka-Seltzer and ate a snickers bar and headed to school.I felt surprisingly well, considering.The lessons went ok and at lunch time the dish was egg and tomato stir fry with rice.This is one of the best hangover foods I have found in China, coming second place only to egg fried rice.Thank you Chef, you saved me!Poppy came over to me in the kitchen and showed me her phone.It was baby pictures!I was really touched that she'd remembered me asking to see a photo when her brothers' baby was born.

I was not in the mood for being punched by Punch-kid.When I walked into the classroom he ran up to me and I dropped my hat on his head and stopped him in his tracks.Then I took a photo of him and let him have a look.He was so pleased with it he wanted to show the others.I helped him hold the camera in both hands and then he walked around the class letting the other children have a look and he was smiling so much.I had hope.But later that afternoon I got punched as usual.

It was pay day but they hadn't paid me, so no pay day purchases to report.In the evening I went to English Corner and there was a girl there from Inner Mongolia I had not met before.She gave me a kiss on the cheek and asked for my phone number.This has happened before and then they are too shy to call anyway so I don't mind giving it out.This girl was different.She text me and tried calling me all night, after last night's one hour of sleep I had gone to bed early and did not appreciate this!
