Every Wednesday I teach at Genius Baby all day.The morning classes are OK, but in the afternoon I have to teach Punch-kid.I think of him as Punch-kid because he seems to enjoy running up and punching me whenever the assistant turns her back.I think he's about 4 years old so he's only small, but it's still not very nice being punched.I've tried telling him to stop.I've tried showing the assistant what is going on hoping she would tell him to stop.None of this has made him stop.I may never be able to get this kid to like me, but I at least want to get Punch-kid to be a little less 'Punch' and a little more 'kid'.I will try harder next week.

Today the English Corner time was earlier than normal so by the time I'd finished my classes I only made it to the end half.Alan is one of the teachers at the college and he often comes to the English Corner.I haven't figured out yet if he comes to supervise, or to improve his own English.There is also a retired man who comes to the English Corner who is actually one of Ruth's students.He is called Mr Shao and he's really friendly, he thanks me for coming to English Corner and helping him improve.I've hardly done anything except show a few photos and share some chocolates!I'd been meaning to show some photos of family and friends but there was not enough time this week.They asked me if I could show them another time instead.

Alan invited me and Ruth to dinner as his 'treat' and he also brought along some of the girl students, plus Mr Shao.Then Alan disappeared and said he would be back soon.When he got back he had his five-year-old son with him.I tried talking to the boy but he seemed to prefer sitting under the table, occasionally popping up to eat some food.As often happens, my dinner was continuously interrupted by questions about vegetarianism and why I do not eat meat.It was a good dinner though and nice of Alan to include me because officially I have nothing to do with the college, I only attend the English Corner unofficially to help Ruth.

When I got home I decided to try to relax and finish watching a movie on the Chinese version of YouTube.I had already watched half and just wanted to watch the end.However, when I tried to access it I received the following error:

Hmmm… no actually I never thought it was a potato, I thought it was the movie which had been at that same web page address less than 24 hours ago!When I finally did find a movie that was in English and still available online, Poppy came home and put the TV on again while I was watching it.I turned off my laptop as I couldn't concentrate over the Chinese speaking on the TV.Well at least this time she stayed in the room and watched it.
