I was definite today that there was heating- it was too hot! However I now had no water at all.I asked Miss Wang to top up my water card and the water came back, but still at the ridiculous low pressure it's been since the beginning of the week.
My lunch was unusual today, the soup I was served can only be described as vinegar soup.It was basically like eating warm vinegar!Yummy! (not)Well at least the dumplings weren't filled with leeks. Every Thursday seems to be leek-dumpling day.And I hate leeks.I've hated leeks for years, ever since Emma's little boy was weaning and he threw up leek and potato mush all over me and it STANK like you would not believe.I'm sure I've had more than my fair share of people vomiting on me!
In the evening, Ruth and I went to the Lake to meet Echo. We went up one of the lake watch towers and took photos of the view over the lake.It was the same tower I had visited during the daytime with Ashley. The view was totally different at night with all the lights sparkling on the surface of the lake. Echo told us the tower had been built in recent years, and there were other more ancient towers but they would be closed. We arranged to go to one of the older towers in a couple of weeks.
We were all quite cold so we went to a restaurant and had some noodles to warm up.Then Echo had a phone call and suddenly got quite embarrassed. She said it was a friend and he was coming to pick her up to take her to karaoke.I said "I think you like him!" and she got even more flustered and said she didn't want to lie to me, that she is dating the guy and was hoping I would give her my opinion about him.So the three of us went to KTV karaoke to meet Echo's new guy and some of his friends.Echo whispered to me asking what I thought about him.He didn't really speak English so I hadn't spoken to him and it was difficult for me to give an opinion!I told her he seemed nice. A little while later she told me he'd just admitted to her that even though he can't speak much English, he could understand what we had been saying to each other!
