I taught classes at Happy Tree in the morning. In the afternoon it was my first time going to Wanhuatong by myself and it's a lot further away than my other schools so I took a taxi to be sure. The taxi driver tried talking to me but he couldn't really speak English. I gathered that he had a child and he was asking if I would be their English tutor.I swapped numbers with him and tried to explain that I would get one of my Chinese friends to call him.
In the evening I met up with Ruth and we went for dinner at the restaurant near me where we went when Ashley came to town.We tried a few different foods, as Ruth has been getting Chinese lessons so she can say quite a bit now. After dinner we went back to Ruth's apartment to watch a movie and drink a few beers.I went home quite late and when I went out to the main road there weren't any taxis so I had to walk home in the cold.Typical, when you are walking along quite content with walking, they drive at you trying to get your attention and are very persistent and very irritating. But the time when you're walking along a dark street in the cold on your own and you would be grateful of a little help getting home, that's when they've all b*ggered off.Sound familiar?
