Before the start of my class, two children were fighting over the same chair.Children are so funny, the classroom is full of lots identical chairs, but for some reason they both wanted this one.The classroom assistant had not noticed the fight, so I stepped up to them, gently prised the chair from both of their grips (four year old children are surprisingly strong!) and quickly grabbed two other chairs and put on in each of their hands.They both just stared at me, shocked as I took the original chair with me to the front of the class and then they both went to sit down nicely.The classroom assistant had obviously seen some of what had happened as she gave me a slightly surprised smile.Well she probably would have just shoved them both so they fell on the floor rather than try to diffuse them.I have seen this particular teacher shove children so hard they end up on the floor.
