I've written this a few days after today happened, so I'll be pretending that it's the same day, even though I've forgotten a load of it.
I hitched a ride off the olden's early on to go and check out the Getty Museum. For those of you who don't know, it's a vast art museum home to some incredibly expensive pieces. They recently acquired a Joeseph Turner for $45,000,000. Probably a bit steep, as we all walked past it at first not realising where it was. It was also the home of the 'Irises' by Van Gogh, as well as a ton of pieces by Cezanne, Degas, Hockney, Manet, Monet, Munch, Picasso, Pissarro, Rembrandt, Renoir, Rousseau, and loads of others. I only remember all these were there, as I wrote down the ones I recognised. There were some really cool sculptures too, and the overall architecture of the museum is inspiring.
I picked up a book in the gift shop called 'Bizarro LA', which features a sort of A-Z on the weirdest places to visit in Los Angeles; mainly celebrity death/suicide homes, proper dodgy dives, and some really messed up shops/museums etc. I'll have to look into it better.
We had some time to kill after the museum, so I showed them to the La Brea tar-pits. I think they were a bit interested, but were probably less impressed than the dire parking situation. Drove to LA Live via my old accommodation (think they're glad I moved now), for food, before heading back to The Wiltern Theater for Primus.
They were amazing. Two sets and totalling around three hours long, it's probably one of the best shows I've been to out her… so far. Think I'm meeting with them tomorrow too.
