Onto the second day of old age makeup, and I was determined to do better than yesterday. I know it's all brand new things I'm learning, I shouldn't really be expected to get it straight away, but it can be a little frustrating at times, and often disheartening when something goes t*** up. Still, I'm intent on doing better.
The demonstration pretty much continued where it finished yesterday, re-applying yesterday's make-up, with the addition of more colours and stippling. The end result was incredible. A lot of people were off today for some reason or other, so I teamed with Crystal again. This was excellent news for me, as it she'd been the demonstration model earlier. "Splendid and tremendous!"
During the lunch break, I popped back to my box to grab my hoody, as the temperature had dropped considerably, and it had apparently been raining during the lesson. I think it must have also rained over night too, but so far in my 7+ weeks of living in Los Angeles, I'm yet to physically witness any kind of precipitation for myself. I've heard it's quite nice back home at the moment….
I decided to let Crystal have her turn first, as it's only fair she gets a break from being made to look old. It can't be doing anyone any good mentally, knowing it's what we could well look like in the future. We didn't have as much time to complete our looks as there was for the demonstration, so we tried our best on half the face.
My turn next, and I think I had a better understanding of what I was supposed to be doing today. I managed to create, what I thought at least, was a pretty decent old age look on Crystal (well, half her face anyway), and I'm looking forward to building on this tomorrow. The more I've been reading up on colour-theory and different techniques, the easier it gets, so maybe I should do more. Incidentally, I'd been informed that I'll be the model tomorrow, and that I need to esnure I've shaved. Unfortuantely, my shaver is pretty much dead, there's no shaver socket, and the socket adaptor I've ordered won't arrive until tomorrow night. Fingers crossed, I'll squeeze out what life is left in it, and be clean shaven, ready to be made old.
Popped to the Novel for something to eat and a beer or two with Vicki and Chanel, and found out that one of the waiter's brothers used to play for Southend a while ago, also having a brief stint at Man. City. Can't remember what his name was but I think he plays for Belgian side Gent now. I don't think he's in the first team though.
Got back and did nothing all evening. Going to ensure I have an early night to catch up on what I've missed over the weekend.
