The morning kicked off with a quick written exam on what we'd learnt about laying facial hair this week, before moving on to our practical finals. I started off first, with little idea about what direction to go in for Vicki's character. After working on it for some time, I managed to create a decent bushy beard, and by adding a prop-cupboard t-shirt and baseball cap, Vicki was the perfect trucker.
It was Vicki's practical after lunch, and I'm sure she was also lacking beardage ideas, but her character turned out to be brilliant. I was a true English gentleman, ready for the hunt. I had a truly awesome beard, and the character was improved by my incredible accent… (it's difficult to mimic it again via here though I'm afraid)
As it's the finals tomorrow where we have to incorporate three of the four aspects of this past months make-up techniques we'd learnt, into one complete character, a few of us needed props and costume to finish our looks, so headed to Hollywood in search of a few things. I managed to get my outfit for Harry from an army surplus store, and after going to a few more fancy dress stores, wig shops, and charity type places, we'd got everything we need, headed for some sushi and a few beers at the Brass Monkey, a little Karaoke bar just round the corner. As I'd chosen to avoid too much alcohol tonight (I want to be fit for tomorrow morning) I'm saving the Chas 'n' Dave for next time I'm there. Plus, Harry needs to practice 'Gertcha', 'Rabbit' and 'The Sideboard Song'.
I got back and burnt my recently bought shopping (for more authenticity) after rescuing a dove that had got into my corridor and started bashing it's head on all the wall until it bled. Bit stupid if you ask me. He got outside and flew off ok though.
