Had a swell time today! The sun shone, though it was cloudy by the end of the day, and it stayed dry. Was very windy though. I started by driving 1.5 miles all the way to Fionnphort, where I boarded a little boat for the trip to Staffa Island to see Fingal's Cave - the Scottish end of the Giants Causeway, Fingal being the name of the Irish giant. Today was the final day of the Davis Cup semi-final against Argentina, with GB trailing 2-1. After a lazy morning, including a lovely hot bath, I jumped on the Number 2 bus to Parkhead, a 10 min walk from the Emirate Arena. The atmosphere at the Arena was electric. As there was only one match of tennis scheduled today, it started an hour later so I had some extra time for sightseeing. Therefore, I walked down to the Clyde and headed west to The Riverside Transport Museum. I arrived just before they opened at 10, but there was already a crowd waiting to get in - unbeknown to me it was a special day with the emergency services there - police, ambulance and fire, including a display of fire engines through the ages. After a pleasant breakfast, as it was sunny and I had a couple of hours to kill, I went for a little stroll around the very pretty, extensive and hilly Kelvingrove Park. Lovely.
