Today I bade farewell to Kintyre as I made my way to Glasgow for a weekend of tennis. True to form there were quite a few showers around.
On route I stopped at the very impressive Inveraray Castle. Situated on the door of Scotland's longest sea loch, Loch Fyne, the views are indeed fine.
The castle, which is more like a palace as it was not built for defence, was constructed in the mid 18th century and had been the seat of the Dukes of Argyll, chiefs of the clan Campbell, ever since. The 13th Duke lives in private apartments within the building while the rest is open to the public.
My next stop, between showers, was alongside Loch Lomond, where I simply admired the view for a while.
Then it was time to head to Glasgow. I'm staying in an apartment on the south side of the Clyde.
After checking-in, I took the short walk into the city to hunt out the local Handmade Burger Co to use up my loyalty card and claim my free meal, consisting of a cheese and bacon burger, cheesy chips and Oreo Shake.
Today we drove 130 miles. Now the Minx can have a little rest until Monday.
