Today I took a coach to that there London, a bargain at just £11 return. The reason was a gig by two Aussie bands at the palatial Alexandra Palace.
Before boarding the coach, i had a lovely brunch that set me up nicely fit the journey. The coach made good time and arrived in Victoria 5 minutes early. I made my way to my accommodation for the night, the Hackney Travelodge, at a cost of just £34.
Once settled in, I set of for Ally Pally, climbing up the hill from Wood Green station to take in the stunning views of London.
Once inside, I couldn't resist a waffle smothered with chocolate sauce, followed by some yummy cheese covered chunky chips.
Jagwar Ma got the show underway with their brand of psychedelic dance. I'd seen them headlining their own show a couple of years ago, and they were just as good. As well as tracks from the Howling album, they played a few new songs in their 45 minute set.
Then it was time for the main act - Tame Impala. They started with my favourite, off their current album Currents, Let It Happen. The pace never let up for the rest of their 90 minute set!
With two of my favourite bands, it made for a fantastic night.
By the end of the night my feet were killing me and I was glad I only had to get back to Hackney!
