A Herbert's Travels
My Godson spent the weekend at his Nan's so needed to be picked up. As we carefully made our way home we stopped off in Caerphilly to explore the castle in the light drizzle.
Constructed in the 13th century by Gilbert de Clare, Caerphilly is Britain's 2nd largest castle and is set in the middle of artificial lakes. It saw extensive fighting between the de Clares and the local Welsh.
The picturesque ruins are now home to a family of friendly dragons that we were lucky enough to meet.
