Tonight we made our way to the Civic Halls in Wolverhampton to see The Vaccines in concert.
However, before we got there I introduced my friend to the marvellous Miller and Carter Steakhouse just outside the city in Penn. She thoroughly enjoyed her ribs, while I tucked into a juicy fillet steak. This was followed up by a sticky toffee pudding for my companion and chocolate ice cream with a cookie for myslef. I swear this was the most chocolatey chocolate ice cream I've had the pleasure of tasting!
Then we arrived in Wiolverhampton and parked Dawnie round the corner. There was a large queue outside, doing their best to shelter from the strong wind. I certainly didn't feel safe taking our tickets out before we reached the door in case they ended up in Birmingham! Following the tragic events in Pris on Friday, it was good to see that security had been stepped up.
As there were two support acts, the show got under way at 7:30 as New York based 3-piece Sunflower Bean. It started off slow but by the end of their 30 minute set they had well and truly warmed us up.
After a 20 minute break, indie rock band Palma Violets took to the stage for their great 40 minute set.
Then it was time for The Vaccines. Their high energy set was fantastic as they stormed through old favourites and tracks from their third album. A great gig.
