Although it's a been a while since my last entry, I've not been neglecting the live experience, and have been to many shows. So here is a summary.
14 Dec 2016 Jeremy Hardy at The Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury
Jeremy presented his usual wry observations on the political situation across the world. Excellent as always.
17 Dec 2016 Madness at The NIA, Birmingham
This was a Christmas treat for my Godson as he particularly loves Driving in My Car. Along with is Mum, we had a wander through the Christmas Market first. The support was The Lightning Seeds who played a great set. Madness were utterly brilliant and the GS thoroughly enjoyed himself.
19 Dec 2016 Robin Hood and Babes in The Wood at The Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury
As ever, The Roses put on a lovely little panto which was great fun.
26 Dec 2016 Aladdin at Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford
Geting disillussioned with the glitzy showbiz style of panto now offered by Wimbledon Theatre, Mum and I decide to try Guildford instead. We made the right choice as this was the best panto we've seen for years. Very traditional with no "big" names, every cast member had years of panto experience and it showed. We had tears of laughter rolling down our cheeks.
12 Jan 2017 Ross Noble at The Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham
Another wander through Noble's unique mind, a journey full of twists and turns, as well as laughs. Brilliant.
25 Jan 2017 Miles Jupp at The Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury
Jupp's understated brand of comedy is full of wit and insight. Fantastic.
4 Feb 2017 Matthew Bourne's The Red Shoes at The New Victoria Theatre, Woking
I've thoroughly enjoyed all of Bourne's shows that I've seen, but this is my favourite. The original score was fantastic, although Mum found it a bit modern in places, the dancing as brilliant as ever. However the storytelling was exquisite, and in places I was so engrossed in it that I was unaware of my surroundings.
