Tonight I was on Birmingham to see The Human League.
Being in the Birmingham, I naturally had to visit The Handmade Burger Company for their Jimmy's Farm Burger with Brie and Bacon, Cheesy Chips and Oreo Milkshake. Yummy!
The first support act were Ekkoes, a four piece fronted by a male and female singer. Their 30 minute set was lively and poppy. They're definitely a decent group, though nothing to make them stand out from the crowd.
Next up was Blancmange, with just singer Neil Arthur, and his distinctive voice, surviving from the original lineup. On stage for 45 mins, the set included classics like Living on The Ceiling, Don't Tell Me, Blind Vision and his version of Abba's The Day You Came. A great performance and would see then again.
Then it was time for the major League!
Starting with Being Boiled, hit after hit followed for the next 90 minutes as the League put on a fantastic show. The set was also brilliant with the musicians initially hidden behind a set of projection screens until the top half was raised to reveal them.
Another classic Human League gig.
