I reckon it's time for another round up of the shows I've been to so far this year.
ROSS NOBLE - 12 Jan 17
At the Cheltenham Everyman, Ross explored his own unique take on the world, which was extremely hilarious. He is one of a kind and always worth watching.
MILES JUPP - 25 Jan 17
Up the road at the Roses Theatre, another evening of laughter as Miles explored the middle class side of life.
MATTHEW BOURNE'S THE RED SHOES - 4 Feb 17
At Woking's Victoria Theatre, this was the first stop of the national tour of the Sadler's Wells production. As always, Bourne's take on this classic story included fabulous choreography and great storytelling. The original music written for the show was fantastic, though Mum thought it a little modern - but she still thoroughly enjoyed the dancing!
HENNING WEHN - 3 Mar 17
At Cheltenham Town Hall, Henning showed again that he is without doubt the best British based German comedian. I love his take on us Brits.
MITCH BENN - 8 Mar 17
I'd heard Mitch on Radio 4's The Now Show so was intrigued to see his intimate performance upstairs at The Roses. He is a musical comedian and was very funny.
PETER HOOK AND THE LIGHT - 9 Mar 17
Hookie is the ex-base player of Joy Division and New Order. Since splitting with New Order, he tours with his own band, which includes his base playing son, and in Gloucester Guild Hall put on a fantastic two and a half hour show of classic Joy Division and New Order songs.
RAY COONEY'S OUT OF ORDER - 11 Mar 17
Back at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford with Mum, this classic farce provided laughs from start to finish.
GOLDFRAPP - 20 Mar 17
Goldfrapp have a new album out and performed their usual excellent show at the Oxford O2 Academy. Fantastic!
CHRIS RAMSEY - 24 Mar 17
Chris provided plenty of laughs at the Roses.
STEWART LEE - 29 Mar 17
Rounding off quite a busy month at the Cheltenham Town Hall, Stewart Lee was excellent as he showed his usual contempt for the audience.
GABRIEL - 20 Mar 17
Back at Guildford, this was an interesting story set during WWII in Nazi-occupied Guernsey. Dramatic and compelling.
ST. ETIENNE - 4 Jun 17
With a new album, the band put on a fantastic show at Birmingham's Town Hall. As an added bonus, I was in the middle of the third row, meaning Sarah Cracknell was in my eyeline the majority of the time. The new album is excellent.
LA CAGE AUX FOLLIES - 10 Jun 17
One of Mum's favourite shows was back in Woking. This was a great production of the story of the gay nightclub owners in France during a time when they were threatened with closure. Includes the anthem I Am What I Am
