So just to give y'all a heads up...tis going to be a longun!!
First and foremost...Sally Dyos is getting OLDER...Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear sally, happy birthday to you, may god bless you, may god bless you, may god bless you sally, may god bless you, how old are you now, how old are you now, how old are you sally, how old are you now??
SOOO....Sunday 3.30 we headed out with Ruby Ruby Ruby to got o Jk and Surendra;'s house (I van and J Van...the loviest boys you could ever meet in your whole entire life as long as you shall live...so yeah, we love them) Got on a bus...with 23 other people in it. Driver actually got out his seat...let someone else in to sit with the gear stick between their legs, then he got back in...it was tight!
Oh poop a scoop...forgot one major event in the day...all time classic moment never to forget in my life. We had a special faculty meet to say a farewell to us and the chinese teacher. So all sat in Grade 1 and Medin said a few words, then asked everyone if they wanted to say something...awkward silence till someone was bwave enough! My teacher said some lovely words to us both...megs teacher was absent, but the assistant said some...grade 2 teacher said nice things...and B doggy dog was super lovely...QUOTE...'we shall especially miss their enthusiasm and smiles around school'....no jokes she nearly got me crying!! We also said a few words of kindness, bla bla...oh yeah rents we said if anyone was to come to england they could stay with us...mean you guys! So be prepared!! Then we were given out farewell gift...yeah baby, lets hope for some BIG bonus...but no, it was in a rather large box....about to open it when Deepa says, 'you must be careful it's glass'.....SAY WHAT??....so opened it up and what do we find, one big ass sized glass box with a miniature statue of Swyambu inside....please oh please, what is this??....we said, 'oh this will be great when travelling around India'...which they have all known that this is our plans since we arrived. So I am convinced to take this glass box around England back home...meg however thinks she may donate it to someone...she asked to share mine...the cheek of it!! So classic Ullens moment!!
So arrived and JK met us off the bus...headed to his house, where we met the family...wife, daughter, mother, father, brother, his wife his son...and about 20 more family members. The house was amazing...all made of stone (average) and we were taking into his BEDROOM/sitting room. Sat and given some 'roxy' and food...ate the food, which was a big plate full and were promptly told that was only the starter! WOWSA! All a bit awkward at first...due to the language barrior, but nothing a little roxy wont sort out. After the starter we went to his second house...just a sitting room and bedroom/kitchen...his brother lived in the next door house. AMAZING view of the Valley. It was pretty damn cool. JK took us on a tour of the area, saw some temples, got some major stares! Then went back to his first house for...the main course.
Main course and chang...had to change rooms and this one was too busy, so went to someone elses bedroom and sat down on the floor. No power so all cadle lit...romantic! The convo was flowing, helped on by chang...encourages them to try out their english a bit more. The food was good....beaten rice, buff, chicken, lentals, spicy veg, short bread thing (no way as good as nanny's) and this werid thing called Jerry...we were sooooo full. The rain started to pour down, along with the thunder and lightening. By this stage No Money No Honey, the nicest most sweetest man ever arrivered, sadly he is with wife and child...otherwsie he would most definitely be coming home with me! SO he came and kept saying how happy he was we came to his village...la tra da....I love you Surendra....!!
So Ruby and her fwend left with JK on his bike and said once he was back he would take us...okey dokey! So they had gone a fair few mins when we head some banging music from out side...surendra casually states...'Oh it's God...he is in the road...look!'...I'm sorry WHAT?? God was infact IN the road, 3 of his being carried by men down the road....God was causing a mahoosive traffic jam in the village...but no one gets angry at god...simply find a nother way round. So Surendra then sayd to us...'okey, come, lets go to my house'....for sizzle ma nizzle!
Surendra's house was great...met the family...huge again! We had take both JK and him a small gift of the hot water bottles sally sent us, for their kiddies...so Surendras child was promptly awoken and poor child was soooo tired, he could barely open his eyes. Bless, but managed to get him to hold it eventually. JK daughter LOVED it...she had make up on her face...and anklets and bracelets...adorable! OH yeah in JK's his brother said to us...'If you need anything ask my woman'....how romantic!! Dad I think you should start saying this whn we have guests over!!
sO AT SURENDRAS WE...HAD CHANG...and talk successfully as, JJ (the main driver, in charge of them all) his some aged 13 can TALK english...so we had a translator! JJ was insisting that we were to go back with him on his bike...all 3 of us...after he had had a rather large amount of roxy...we declined. Oh my god...highlight of the evening...as we were walking to Surendrs house he actually held my hand....shut the door, best bit of Nepal...yep we help hands as the floor was slippery in the rain...LOVE!! SO anyway...we were chilling...had some tea and chang, then...food. MORE food....cooked specially for our arrival. Egg pizza thing, egg, buff...the 13 year old went and bought us soem crisps...they are soooooooooo lovely here I cannot explain it. They literally believe that Guests are Gods.
We also met E vans mum...who kept talking to Meg in Nepali, even though we explained we dont speak her language...she continued. But by the end Meg was giving her High Fibes...classic!! Dont think she wanted a high five but meg gave it to her anyway! So we were offered a bed to sleep in but we said we should get back...someone would have to sleep on the floor for us...so moved on out...not on JJ bike. Found JK and headed to his father in laws bus to take us home....this time on the slippery slope I held JK hand and Meg Surendras Hand!! So headed off home, with an extremely extremely full belly...dropped to the door!! The most fantastic night we have had with the two best men EVERRRRRR....I would come back to Nepal just to see them again!!
So after a great night, we had the worst nights sleep possible...not sure why!! Maybe the chang maybe some dodge food...but all food was held in! So in the morning headed out with Surendra, our man, in I van to pick up the children to go on a training course for the village. Didnt arrive till 12 where we soon found out that actually there was no transport for us to go home even though we said we had to go home (everyone else was sleeping the night) as we have SO many reports to do. SO went all that way....did 2 activities with the kids then came back home with the drivers...this time I was with Laxmi Dai and Meg was with JK...race time....I lost bad!! But I was with the good boy, who even wears a seat belt!! I have also convinsed Laxmi Dai on our road trip to firstly call me Rose not Mam and second I I said his bike had to have a name as all vehicles should be named...so its called ROSE...and I promised to name my next car Laxmi!!
Came back and what to we find...reports reports reports!! YAYAYAYAYAYAY. So all afternoon spent doing that fun activity! The evening pretty standard....showered, face masked, slepty as super tired!
Tuesday....today....had reports in the morning and I had to sit through an entrance exam...boring. Mahesh and Mumta are back from england...so caught up with them. We are starting to get ready to leave, all very emotional. Got our list fo things to do...the main theme of today is to say our goodbye to everyone...its getting sad!!
So had our last ever school food then....farewells! Its was sad. I was also like to tell a tale of a classic megan Dyos story...classic...I bought over a mug from england with the union jack on it, very nice 3 pound cup....been in the flat for 5 months at at the end we decided to give it to some one we thought deserved it...we chose Deepa...as she has been our mummy whilst here and just a lovely woman....we were stood in the kitchen going to take it down when....yep, Meg drops the cup and the handle smashes off...5 months we have had this cup and of the last day, it breaks....a bit like the watch story really!!
So after that, no cup was awarded, so just hugs all around. Poonam nearly made me cry as she said it hurts too much to say goodbye, bless and so did Deeps, but I held it together as megs luckily made things into a joke! Got great hugs from all, even the kitchen men AND michael Jorden. Said bye to Bikash and Roby...our IT men who we have been through a lot with. Roby refused to firstly sat good bye and then wouldn't hug us....eventually got it out of him...but not a full throttle hug, only half hearted. MAHESH on the other hand gave the nest farewell everrr, got a hug and hand holding with promises to stay in touch and tell us when he comes to England which he WILL!!
So farewells to all out teachers...oh apart from Megs teacher didnt say goodbye...thats not very nice!! But aside from that we did the rounds and held in the tears that so badly wanted to come out....I am going to speak from the heart now...as this has truly and honestly been the most amazing 5 months I have ever had in my life, we have laughed and laughed and laughed...made so many amazing friends (especially the drivers) and just loooooved it!! I will be so upset to leave...I FREAKIN LOVE NEPAL!!
So after that epic amount of words...I shall depart...meg, tell us about project week....
