Sooo its Wednesday...what to write! Firstly, we found out yesterday that all of the post sent to Ullens goes to a mail box in another town. This mailbox is only checked once a month!!! We found out that today was the day it was to be checked!! A little disheartened about the fact that we wouldn't recieve our expected post (thanks Chick and mumma!) until 24th December, we hit the sack...yet again at 3am i was awoken by the sounds of i think maybe 200 dalmations...maybe its breeding season! Rose doesn't seem to hear them at all!
Up for a shower in the morning...a first!!! Lovely jubbly...it now seems to be abit broken though as its back to a dribble...a warm one though! Beauty sunny day, pretty hot...people find it very funny that we turn up every day in eachothers clothes...not sure that it is the done thing here! Average day...Suzanne and Colin are going to the American Ambassadors for supper tonight...where is Britain??!!!
Saryu (receptionist) AKA our friend!! She brought us in loads of DVD's to watch...so kind! She also on the way to snack gave us the 'you have got post wink'...we rushed in...A PARCEL! Our faces couldn't have looked more excited if we had tried!! 2 Advent Calenders!!! Mummy Dyos we LOVE you! Loved the note about not eating one all at once!
So tonight we sat in the staffroom as 'Taken' was being shown in english on TV!! Opened the Advent Calender...Rose looked a little shocked at my talent at opening the whole thing at once...its not as if i do it every year...never! 12 Chocolates, 2 toffees, a starburst and 1/2 a mini Mars Bar...A FEAST! Mummy Dyos you would be proud...Rose has been educated on the sticking the mars bar on a fork and sucking away! She LOVES it! So all settled into the film after messing with some electrics...dodgy business! And BOOM powercut! The powercuts are going up to 18 hours per day now...its freakin' crazy...load shedding its called...very good for the environment...thank goodness for the generator at school! So electricity back on and we hit the computer room to watch one of Saryau's films as signal on the TV is a no go (something we discovered from the security guards with our pigeon Nepalese!)....and we can't work out how to open the dvd whatsit....its all really going well tonight....CADBURY...WE LOVE YOU!!! The seretonin levels are the highest they have been, and we are happy happy happy!
Just so everyone knows, our address is:
Rose Barnes and Meg Dyos (English Volunteers), Old I.B, GPO BOX 8975, EPC 1477, Kathmandu, Nepal
Lots of love, miss you all...
