SO...much has happened over the last 2 weeks, what with the arrival of Puppa and Mumma B. We had a lovely few days in Kathmandu with them. They were very lucky to stay IN the penthouse suite...with school coffee bought up each morning to start the day! Laying in till 11am whilst us girlies were at work....some of us have to get the money in!!
On Thursday night, we all went out for supper to Black Pepper for Meggsies Birthday....and ma and pa bought a pressie from england (a silver braclet) which has now returned back to englan...not risking taking it to india!! Myself and Meg had one of the best meals so far in Nepal.....STEAK STEAK STEAK, COW COW COW....WE ATE COW....holy cow!! It was gooooooood. Especially as it was served with a blue cheese dip! Bonus or what...cheese cheese cheese!!
Friday, we took the rents to Swyanbu, a stoop to the west of Kathmandu! Was a beaut to see, then headed for supper in the eveing....we are being treated BIG time, supper out every evening, after the efforts to shrink the tummies in time for India....i think we will give this us...we have eaten a lot! But not complaining, its great! I had horse riding in the morning, which was fantastic as always, I love going, as at the end the men always let me have a go, even if we are running late...we're bezzies we are!! So got on the horse, with out the help of the step, I think they enjoy watching me struggle to lift myslef onto the horse, but managed to...got the horse going into a slow trot...they are super lazy....decided my necklace was annoying me, so took it off and as I was handing it down to Laxmi Dai (the LOVELY LOVELY driver man) the horse saw the necklace, thought it was a wip and took off, straight into a gallop....I was holding on with one hand and nearly flew of backwards...all the men were laughing at me...but I like to think I managed the situation and look pretty damn cool!! I am loeaving my boots here, and as NONE of the women will fit them I am going to ask my fav riding boy if he wants them....they will still be MASSIVE, but the men here like their shoes big!
Saturday, we took them to another Stooper, to the east of The Vally, called Bouda. This was AMAZING. It was really cool. The weather was beautiful, so ma and pa pictures look great with a lovely blue back ground. Came back home and watch the sun set....mother and father were VERY lucky as today the mountains were stunning, at this time of year they are not normally this clear....so we were soooo lucky. Ma thinks she even saw everest...or at least a look-a-like!! AFter the sunset we headed to Tamarind for supper....ma thought all the waiters were 'sooo sweet' and was even quoted to say, 'Oh he's so sweet, Rose you can bring that one home, he so sweet'.....okay then!!
Sunday, our last day with ma and pa B....headed into school, as we now cook in the mornings with the kitchen men...BUT no one was in school....the former PM had died (and yes in true nepali taste a picture of him on his death bed was on the front page of the news paper on Saturday) so we had sunday off....Dekhal in the kitchens was in though and he cooked us some prekkie, gave us milk and flour (for pancakes) AND....he told us some very very very very exciting news.......GUY ULLENS (as in the Ullens of Ullens school) was coming to Nepal today....AND we are to have supper on monday with him (all the staff not just me and meg, we know we are special but not that special)...so now we are VERY excited....Baron Guy Ullens, a billionaire...I shall most definitely like to meet this man!!
So had the whole day with the rents, which was lovely, packed...we managed to get a whole load of our things in their bags, inclued most of our warm clothing! The suitcases looked like they would burst! Then took ma and pa out to get a taxi...the loevly lovely lovely lovely security gaurds got us a taxi and a good price too....bless them. TALKING OF WHICH.......on saturday me, ma and meg went down to get a photo of the men on duty all together....they all puton their whole outfits specially for the photo, and we all lined up and had a picture. They are adorable. We showed them the photo later on Dads computer (they didnt know what we had bought down until we opened up the computer and they stood there saying 'What is it?? Oh it s a computer!!') so now they have asked if we will print a copy out for them....its true love!!
Sent ma and pa off, very emotional, as we have had a great time with them...we didnt know where we were in the world as we were home but not home, but it was great fun! Myslef and Meg then went out for pizza and beer...a great pizza too!!
SO MONDAY....ullens day.....normal day, then at lunch GUY the main man ULLENS arrived at school, we were so excited, but we wer preocupied with school lunch to actually meet him in person, so while the school stood outside the kitchens greeting him, we sat eating and looking at him....it was the best seat in the house. So saw him, he tooks oldish. At 4.30pm we had Ilya over to the penthouse for some pre-drinks...we had...sorry mums....rum and coke!! It got us going, then at 6 we headed to the hotel for uspper with Guy...we were in a bud with all the Didi's and some kitchen and driver men. They all looked SO gorgeous (the men) either in traditional wear or suits....they looked so hansome....meg and myself however...well lets just say that meg had pulled her top out of the dirty laundry basket for tonights occation!!....so we focused on making the face beautiful....eyeliner gallor!!
The evening was FANTASTIC....firstly there was wine....secondly the food was goooood.....thirdly we met GUY ULLENS....we stood and shook his hand and had a great talk, even made him laugh! Meg took things to the next level by inviting up to vist the Penthouse Suite some time....smooth Meg!! He even ended up sitting on OUR table through the speeches...what an honour....but agin ot be honest, ours was the only table with space on it, as we were on the 'white' table (all 4 of us) and no one sat with us.....okay thats an exageration, it took people a few glasses of something to sit with us....BUT red coats (one who is my treu love) did sit with us, and I managed some convo....despite the fact that my love doesnt speak much english and I speak no nepali....we did well!!
Our friend Roby from IT was drikning beer....he told us he didnt frink the rascal!! Sat with them for a hwile....ho yeah we got a big ention from Medin in his speech, right at the start...he nearly forgot my name though, i think he gets worried whether to say rose or ros-a-lie....but there was a pause before my name!! So chatted with the boys, then I van (our favourity driver no money no honey/sawendra) came and collected us....we jumped into I van and in got some other drivers and didis....we most definietly had the best van ever....we were dancing the whole way back, with we dicovered...B van, C van, E vana nd D van....they were fan-tas-tic...the only thing E van said was 'Oh yeah, good dance, good dancing...oh yeah, good'....got back at 11.30 after looking at all the didis and drivers houses along route to drop them off...we are all bestest buds now!!
Normal tuesday, but everyone was looking at us like 'You should be feeling rough today'...which we were not, we didnt drink Mums dont worry (well not too much)...waved at our new driver friends...Shyam asked us how our heads were and we said FINE!! Went our for a drink after school with Ilya, suzanne, colina nd Barbs....was good. Then got back and found no power...also discovered it was pancake day....SO...pancakes it is!! We made all the security gaurds a pancake each...5 in total...they werent too sure about them, I think its cause they were cold!! One ate a whole slice of lime on its own...weirdo...he said he made him stronger!! But the have invited us to lunchon saturday....hot date with the other secuirty guards....AND tomorrow Little Security guard is meeting us at Ram Store to help us buy some local fumented Rice drink...also know as Chang....we have tomorrow off, as there is a strike!! WOOP WOOP.
So happy Pancake day and Laddies day to you all....that was long....and sorry mumma it wasnt very cultural!!
Poo face over to you.....
