Hello ALL,
So from Tuesday...a non chocolate week after last weeks efforts to empty Ram's store of the 5 rupee chocolate (4p a bar)!!
So tuesday was a standard night in, aside from the fact that we have had a MAJOR internet disaster....basically from the Gods of the school, the beloved facebook has been banned from 8am-4pm....we thought at least we get it from 4 onwards....oh no no no. The internet seems to be either in a powercut or turned off from 5.30 onwards! NOT GOOD NEWS! So if we are needed desperatly please email our other email addresses!
Wednesday...YOGA DAY....luckily it starts at 5.00pm cause it means we get to have snack, our favourite day for food. Breakie- cheese snadwich, lunch- mixed veg curry (for me, Rose) and snack- deep fat fried veggies and BIG coffee....YUM! So headed to yoga with Suze. It was A-MA-ZING!! We asked Suzanne to sit in the middle of us so we didn't laugh, which at some points was needed. Had an hour and 15min session....it was tiring. Favourite FAVOURITE moments- 1st The yoga man saying, 'So we are going to do some yoga exercises for the stomach, this is especially for you.' (points at Meg), honestly we nearly weed in our panties! 2nd (for Rose) The man saying, 'so wiggle the fingers on your feet' and 'now bend the knees like this' (meaning elbows) 3rd some of the yoga moves we made...humming at the start, we were all out of tune! Also head back and blowing out of your nose forcefully (NOT good when we hadn't blown our nose recently)!! Generally a fantasic experience, we have been having an afternoon session in the penthouse everyday...a bit of meditating and yoga....beautiful!!
OH MY LORD......guess who is coming to Nepal.....B-R-Y-A-N A-D-A-M-S....yes we are listening to all his songs in preparation for his arrival to Kathmandu....20th February, Mother and Father would you like tickets??
Thursday...internet not working so we ended up in the staff room and we watched a WHOLE film on the telly. It was a great evening in the end.
Friday, we were hitting up the Slammin in Thamel. So we decided to make a night of it. So after snack (of course) we headed to Thamel on the school bus. With the name of the bar 'House of Music' on Meg's hand, and that was all. Oh and Nayans number, but he had no idea where the Bar was as well oh and also no phone to call him on. So arrived safe and sound, decided to find a hostel near the bar........2 hours later....yes 2 HOURS....we were still no closer to finding it! After asking a million people where the place was we never got close! People thought we meant a house to listen to music in was what we wanted...oh great! So we phoned Nayan (a hard task in itself finding a phone) but a kind man lent us his! Nayan said he would meet us somewhere...SOMEWHERE?? in 40mins.....40mins later couldnt get through to him on another borrowed phone.....we were super knackered! So checked in to a hostel, almost given up....one more attempt to ring (on another borrowed phone) and he FINALLY picked up! HOORAY! So met up and headed for some slammin. Was pretty good as usual, there were american poets performing, but in all honesty the Nepalese ones were better. We are now mates with them cause Nayan introduced us...WE KNOW NEPALESE CELEBRITIES!! They did these awesome slam poems to a guitar and beat boxing....prepared only 40mins before, whilst under the influence of alcohol and possibly a herb of some kind....it was goooood.
We left there at 9.45pm ish....and felt a bit peckish so headed to a restaurant....oh dear, a whole pizza and burger with chips later and 900rs we were stuffed to the brim! It was MAHOOSIVE. As per usual at the end of the meal we both said, 'we should have shared'...but i tell you it was great! So headed to our home for the night, the room was CHILLY WILLY.....got into bed, (which was a bit grubby) and equipped with a sheet and blanket....well thats not going to keep anyone warm is it....its the winter...a duvet would be more sensible. I am not joking we were so freaking cold....we couldnt get warm, Meg thought it was going to be our last night ever!....so the only thing to do....we shared a single bed for the night!! Not too bad to be honest, very cosy and MUCH warmer! We made it till 7am and then got into our own beds....still blinkin freezing, but managed to slepp till 10am! Fabby dabby!
Then we thought of....FOOD! So Meg wanted to try this organic place soooo bad, so we went there for breakfast. It was fabulous. Meg had 'heathly in a bowl soup' (veg, chicken etc in soup) and me.......bannan crepes with honey and cream. Both delicious!! We are going there for Christmas supper, as I spied a LASAGNE...randomly the food I crave the most when travelling! CANNOT WAIT...also we wont be staying at the same place again!
Now HOME, feels good to be back in comfort. Got the bus back all the way from Thamel, we are proud of ourselves. So now checking emails, NOT FACEBOOK, and then later we have the big date! Very exciting. Then rock cimbing tomorrow, so meg will tell all at a later date!
Lastly congratulations to Sophie Harvey (Rose's godaughter) who said her first word, YAY! It was 'scissors'....good job Soph!
Love to all....Buff over to you....
Rose bigs up the Penthouse too much today...we have no hot water...again!
