Hello all,
Sorry the photos didnt work, we will try again. It takes FOR EVER!!
So it was our first day of school today, we were very nervous and hungry after going to bed. Also a bit desperate for the lavitory BUT we have no water to flush the loos!!
We were awoken at 5am in the morning by some person beeping their car horn very loudly, this was NOT amusing. We were getting up at 6.30 which was early enough. So from 5 till 6.30 we were constantly woken by other such noices, but finally the time came.....
WHAT TO WEAR was the first thing on our minds. We looked quite simpilar as all we bought were stripy tops, so we both wore, black trousers and stripy tops with a form of jumper, cause in the morning it is chilly!!
Breaky was great, we had Nepalese style baked beans really, with a bit of naan. Delicious. And a banana which we have saved for supper!!
Then we were sent by the principle and vice-p to where we are to spend the next 5 months...Rose to grade 4 and Meg to grade 5. We were separated....
I think it is safe to say that we both loved our first day, but it was just a joke day, as there were 11 people missing from roses class, due to the fact that its the first day back from a 1 month holiday. The children in both grades had some very amusing and NOT so amusing stories. Meg seems to have had the worst of it, with a numerous amount of deaths, killing, dog deaths etc. Rose only had 1 death and 1 child who helped a firework as it went off so now has burnt fingers....they have settled us in well I think.
Lunch was good too, rice with curry sauces, a bit of spice to them, so its good that my (rose) father has bought me up on spicy curry! And meg seems well adapted too.
So today has been a good day really, tomorrow is the real start of term. We are still without water BUT we have made at least 2 friends today, so that is gooood.
One small worry for me (rose) is the fact that at the end of the day, the teacher turned to me and said 'so do you have ideas for the English class tomorrow?'.........ummmmm, I was not prepared for this!! And meg thinks she has to do parents evening and reports.....we came expecting to be gap students, I think we will leave as experienced teachers! May not be good ones, but we will try.....I mean we just had to look up idioms in the dictionary, cause meg is doing it tomorrow in English.
It's like going to school all over again!
Meg..........
Also, we still have NO water....so we found a shower in the school and are nice and sparkling clean.
