Today has been rather eventful actually! Both awoke early to read our books...very exciting indeed...a little competition to see who can finish their book first! Rose decided that today...day 4 of not showering was the day to wash her hair...very amusing to then find that we now have NO WATER!!! Began cooking breakfast in our pj's as two rather strapping young Nepalese gentlemen (both in Grade 12) entered our Penthouse to have some water after their basketball game...whacked on some tunes and had a little chat as they taught Rose how to perfect the art of cooking a fried egg! Hopefully they will tell their friends about our amazing roof terrace and come and join us on the dance floor??!!
Got changed and went out looking to say the least a little dishevelled! Off to Thamel in Kathmandu which is apparently like the Khoa San road of Nepal...we have truly perfected the art of bartering and jumped in a taxi for 300 rupees...task of today, to look at treks...there are so many on offer that i think we are none the wiser on it after todays research! All we know is that Everest is a no go due to costs!
Had a beer in the best hippy bar that was banging out some bangin' english beats and then continued on our mooch around Thamel...a Nepalese man decided to put red dots on our foreheads...we didn't have much say in this, and then tried to charge us...no way hosay! We found another hippy cafe and brought a drink and peanut masala each that appeared to be literally a whole packet of peanuts with raw chilli, onion and tomato...not the best choice ever! Made our way home with a lovely taxi driver who informed us that there was no petrol anywhere at the moment...guess we got a taxi at the right time!
Arrived home busting for a wee wee...to find we still have NO water, so no toilets for us! Lets hope the Nepal belly doesn't hit us tonight! Washed up in the school kitchen which the security guards found hilarious and now our last evening before work....what do to...lets read??
Peace out xxx
back to you Rosalie...
I (rosalie) would just like to add something to this....after arriving home to no water again, and tomorrow being our first day at school, first impressions and all we really are keen for a shower. MEGAN says that she will therefore take a towel and shampoo across the school, pass the security gaurds and use the school sink in one of the lavitories....I said this was absolutely not allowed, the security gaurds will think we are freaky weirdos!! Luckily she agreed not to go ahead with this idea. PHEW!!
