So we are extremely apologetic for the lack of blog entries, but we really don't have that much to say! Hope all is well at home and the christmas build up is as exciting as always!
So i'll begin from Saturday where we turned up at 7pm for our date with the Security Guards. We were pretty excited but also very nervous as we were worried that there would not only be a major language barrier, but as a result of this a major lack of convo....but we weren't to worry for long as a soon as we got there we were handed the computer room keys....Not quite what we expected, 'but maybe supper is at Nepalese time' we said! So half an hour on internet free computers and then we reappeared for supper...(with a plan in our heads that if there was no offer we would head to our local 'Busy Bee's'). Nope, no mention of supper, even with the hand gestures and the such like they either had absolutely no idea that they had ever invited us, or they thought that we had stood them up. Either way, through hand gestures, they were happy to inform us that they had eaten....momo's from Busy Bees it was then! Its not actually called Busy Bee's, its called 3 bee's....but i like to call it that, as it is always empty!
So we attempted to order 'Take away'...a very hard task as they call it 'packing' here. Lesson learnt! So we had a beauty hot chocolate whilst waiting for our pork and chicken momo's and then off home! Pretty early to bed ready for rock climbing on Sunday.
Rock Climbing - awoke as usual to Chocolate spread sandwiches and met Colin...who lets just say...looked the part...I'm not sure that everyone would agree, with his leggings underneath board shorts look...so the usual stuff, got ready...Rose climbed, i didn't; and she is VERY proud to say that she reached the very top of the cliff this time....Nice job. Got back, watched the end of HP7....man what a confusing film, and we thought that we were true fans!!! Obviously not! Got some veg from our local, where we saw the man from 'Cockroach Corner'....he asked us where we had been, and why we had not visited him....Great acting skills from Miss Barnes again who convinced him that we had been away rock climbing for a long time! The veg shop is definitely her stage! So i guess we might need to pay him a little coffee DAytime visit and hope that the buff does not reappear! Made the best stir-fry...veg, ginger, garlic, honey and soy....we are definitely improving just in time for our visitors!
Monday....GREAT news....we have confirmed visitors....Mummy and Daddy Barnes...definite highlight....Rose told me and i cried after just seeing the photo sent to me of all of my families day trip to London! So far this week, we have checked hundreds of reports...Rose more than me, as my teacher still hasn't done hers. They are all due in on Friday so there is a light at the end of the tunnel! Today however, there was a strike....we really aren't sure why, and it wasn't really ever confirmed...but the junior school didn't come in, and apparently there were tyres being burnt over the roads to stop people driving...all a big who ha, so not sure that it will be over by tomorrow or not...we don't really get too involved in the outside world in the week as we have the luxury of our Penthouse!
So Wednesday again...Yoga day oh and the strike day that i have explained above! We have just returned from yoga...another great session...tried a hard move that i was unable to do properly, i would say due to a lack of flexibility....however, the man clearly pointed out that fat people would find this position difficult...thats me then, as Rose had her legs high in the air!!! Well done Rose!
Another major piece of gossip from the Nepali land is that the food menu has changed and a lot of potatoe has been cut out...great news for the bellies...Mr Yoga man had better watch out! We have practised yoga quite a bit this week and have finally got the meditating down with the 'ohm' sounds also....after much hysterical laughter on both parts, we got the candles out last night and managed it...after turning our house into a nightclub and bangin out some beats for a fandabby dance we were ready!
Oh we have also been paid.....!!!! Not 5,000 rupees between us no! 5,000 EACH!!!! SO GOOD, SO LUCKY!
So our favourite Nepali tune is 'Mercedes Benz'.... You tube it, its a cracker!
Oh and we have a phone....well kind of! Its the school number that the security guards will let us recieve phone calls on at night, so if anyone fancies a chat a time slot must be booked in advance so we can warn them that they will get the english people talking to them....I think its pretty safe though if you say 'Meg and Rose' numerous times loud and clear!
Thats all for now folks i think!
