So we awoke at 6am...for a 7.30am bus....this is where myself and Rose differ....i have to wake up in plenty of time and get to the bus early (7am) just so we don't miss it, whereas Rose loves that tense feeling of possibly not making the bus....gives a great sense of achievement when you get to the bus with minutes to spare....so we got there at 6.45am....and froze....sorry Rose!
A beauty bus ride....well beauty as far as bus rides go! 7 hours and we were back home (Kathmandu)....something that we had been super excited about until we actually arrived and saw pollution, smelt pollution, and breathed the polluted air...! We got out of the bus in a land that we had not seen before....slightly confused we asked where we were....bljskhdjhfhkf was the answer...nope don't recognize that! So on our super tight budget we asked the taxi's....yes we know that now we are locals, we realise that taxi's really are only used by tourists or the rich, but we were t and r (tired and ratty) well i was, and we hoped that there might be snack on very shortly at school! Taxi prices were astronomical, but we met some lovely boys who offered us a 600 rupee taxi....we said yes! Drove through foreign lands of we have no idea in Bob's taxi...had a right old chat and made friends....the phone rang, and Chanelle Shibata was about to board her flight back to the Gold Coast XOXO, so had a quicko chat to her and Richy Mitchy....all a bit emotional, but then the gates of ULLENS SCHOOL were there, and all was so good again....we had made it!
As the gates opened, we saw a light at the end of the tunnel....the long awaited SCHOOL COFFEE!! And some chippies on the side! We recieved the lovliest of welcomes from the security guards who it seemed had been looking forward to protecting us again! Saw a lot of people and exchanged holiday details....we were worried that noone would be here, but its a full house! Hit the Penthouse, and what a sight! Its so good to be home!
Unfortunately no hot water....so considering i am writing about 6th Jan...today is actually 20th Jan and we STILL have no hot water...pretty standard nowadays...
Had a great week back at school....arose at 9am egg on toast....then some internet...school lunch, some tanning, snack....then the usual evening! We also (massive news) recieved 3 parcels....Nanny Pie, a christmas card, Elsa, a lovely card and a love stone which i love, and Mumma and Puppa B 3 DVD'S!!! Micheal Mcintyre boxset and the Hangover!!!! Oh we have had a chuckle to these classics....thank you so much! There is a new volunteer called Ilia who does have a wife, shes from America and seems pretty nice...Medin did give us a whole text book that he wanted us to edit...Rose 192 pages, me 174 pages....quite literally a text book translated from Nepalese to english that wasn't quite translated properly...that was our job....some pretty funny stuff...'alcohol is the devil, if you taste it you will become corrupt' standard stuff...thats about it! We have had an invite for 14th Jan to go to the Stadium with Biken....of course we have said yes....so tune in for the next blogski to find out what happens next in the life of 'the horizontally and the vertically challenged....AKA Meg and Rose!
