Yesterday was quite dull....we bought a courgette and ate it...it was yummy!! And we tanned. NO POWERCUTS LAST NIGHT!!
Okay first off I want to mention something that has not been talked about.....the dog in the house bellow us. LITERALLY the scariest dog alive, although it is behind a metal gate, which is padlocked, we still think it will kill us everytime we pass. It hears us coming and runs up to our floor (behind gate) and barks at us, teeth and all. Luckily we have another flight of stairs before our house, so we only have to pass it for about 3seconds, but the first time was met it I thought Megan had wet herself...it was a scary shock!! Liz Barnes- I have tried to be the dog wisperer, with all the 'chh' and clicking of fingers BUT NOTHING WORKS....it got angrier!! So we now just leg it past the dog. Its terrifiying! Cecar Millan needs to come here now!!
So aside from that matter, today we had a LOVELY day. Sam organised a trip for us to spend the day at an orphange down the road, whihch is celebrating brothers and sisters.
So at 8.15am a knock at the door, a security man with two boys who spoke english were there to greet up ih our PJ's that a taxi will be arriving at 9.30 to take us to Nakhu. WICKED!
SO headed out in taxt, where we were told by sam, we should be dropped off at Nakhu and his uncle would find us on the street, we had a number for him incase of emergency.
EMERGENCY....some women tried to steal us and was stroking meg's face....so we found a security gaurd (like my mummy taught me to) and he phoned the number for us. He was a lovely man, cause he then walked us up the street to where the uncles house was....thank you Mr security man.
We then spent the day at the orphanage, with all the lovley kids who said they were all sisters and brothers and cousins. Then help the ceromany, where the boys sat on the floor as girls went round throwing petals on their heads, and water type stuff in hair. Then putting colourful dots on there forheads. After this the girl presented all the boys (brothers) with a gift of food and sweet, in return the brothers gave the sisters money and a small pressie for there sweets and stuff. It was all very cute.
We even got given a food present too. After this, we ate lunch, which was gorgeous! Rice anbd spicy stuff. We met some other volunteers, which was nice, as we could speak to them! Meg nearly lost here camera to a small nepalede boy!!
Everyone was lovely, especially the kids, and a lot of them go to Ullens, so will be good to see them again. Sam turned up after lunch were he was warmly greeted. We later found out that he was once at the orphange and now helps to run it as a big brother type figure....they all love him!!
Came home, bought a bargain of a deal over some matches....10 boxes for 20RS (8p or something), excelent.
Now doing this, supper will be courgette with Soy sauce and an egg....yummy!! CANNOT wait to school food...never thought we would be saying that!!
Sam dropped us at the ring road and we walked home...a boy ran past and lit a firework and we jumped but continued walking, the boy then threw a banger at Meg's feet pretty much and she flew into the air...the Nepalese thought it was hilarious! Hope it made their day....! It was like 'An idiot abroad'!!
Fabby day, might go back and see kiddies again some time.....
